Frequently Asked Questions

  • What Is Tallow?
Tallow is the rendered fat from a cow. Grass fed tallow acts as a topical superfood for the skin! Before the influx of man-made chemicals and unnatural synthetic ingredients, tallow was a prominent part of skincare used by our ancestors. Tallow contains high concentrations of fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, and K. Tallow is also a great anti-inflammatory because it contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) as well as palmitoleic acid which has natural antimicrobial properties.
  • How Do I Use Tallow?
A little tallow goes a long way, since it is pure and concentrated (unlike watered-down lotions or balms full of additives you find in the store) Tallow is safe and effective for every area of the body (even for babies...perfect for diaper rash!) Tallow is readily absorbed by the skin
  • Can I Use Just Any Tallow?
Its important to use tallow from grass-fed cows! Conventionally raised cows on synthetic grain diets have toxins that settle into their fat tissue- yuck! No feed lot cows over here!
  • What Is Goat Milk Soap?
Soap made from goat's milk uses a traditional soap making process called saponification, which involves combining an acid - fats and oils - with a base called lye. Most commercially made soaps contain harsh surfactants that can strip your skins natural moisture, leaving it feeling tight and dry. Goat milk soap boasts high amounts of fats, particularly caprylic acid, allowing for the gentle removing of dirt without removing the skin's natural fatty acids.
